Billow was formed from a fallen sycamore tree in the Scottish borders. Through the process of steam bending, materials were worked to their limits to produce this familiar skeletal structure. Opening up the central section of this piece are curved, rib-like forms manipulated by hand, individually pinned and angled. Each curve varies, having individually altered as a result of tension, moisture and temperature change.
